Harvard University is demanding the administration of President Donald Trump for threatening to retain federal funds if the school did not comply with its demand list.
The lawsuit, filed at the Federal Court of Massachusetts, asks a judge to prevent the freezing of financing between enforcement, arguing that the measure is “illegal and beyond the authority of the government.”
The president of Harvard University, Alan Garber, announced the lawsuit in a letter published on the School’s website on Monday, saying that the administration’s demands sought to impose “unprecedented and inappropriate control” on the university.
