Trump Admin Live updates: Trump says 'Let's enter' Chicago

The governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, a Democrat, quickly delayed President Trump’s comments on the shipment of National Guard troops to Chicago.

“First, I want to address the president’s deranged comments a few minutes ago begging me to call him. No, I will not call the president, asking him to send troops to Chicago. I already made it clear,” said Pritzker at a press conference.

Then, the governor addressed the residents directly, saying that he would share as much as his team knew about the potential action of the administration.

“Rumors have been turned on what the White House has planned, and the fact that fiction is increasingly more difficult because the Donald Trump administration is not working in coordination with the city of Chicago, Cook County or the state of Illinois,” said Pritzker. “I want to take a moment in the upper part of my comments to notice how really extraordinary it is for the federal government to refuse to coordinate with the Local Police and the Government.”
