A man from Washington, DC, who faces positions of assault from a federal officer after he allegedly threw a sandwich into a customs agent and border protection during a confrontation this week, worked for the Department of Justice at that time, according to the Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Sean Charles Dunn faces federal charges for allegedly throwing a subway sandwich to a CBP agent patrolled with the Metro Transit police in the northwest of Washington around 11 PM on Sunday.
On Thursday morning, Bondi said Dunn had been fired from his work. Dunn worked as a specialist in International Affairs at the Office of International Affairs of the Criminal Division, according to a DOJ official.
“I just learned that this defendant worked in the Department of Justice, no longer,” Bondi said in a publication on social networks. “Not only did he say goodbye, but he has been accused of a serious crime.”
Bondi added: “He will not work in this administration while there are respect to our government and the police.”

After several minutes of confrontation on Sunday, Dunn allegedly threw the sandwich, hitting the officer in the chest, says the complaint. The alleged incident was apparently captured in a video posted on Instagram.
Dunn was arrested after trying to flee, the authorities said, and then admitted the incident while processed at the police station, supposedly telling an officer: “I did it. I threw the sandwich.”
While Bondi said in his statement that people “will not work in this administration while there are respect to our government and the police,” last week, the department remained publicly for the continuous employment of Jared Wise in the Department of Justice. The incident occurs in high tensions about the federal presence of the police in the district. Trump recently deployed National Guard troops in Washington, DC, declared a public security emergency and placed the Metropolitan Police Department under partial federal supervision for 30 days.
The district council member, Brooke Pinto, who presides over the Judicial and Public Security Committee, expressed concern about the increase in federal presence.
“It paints an image of a city that is not mine and is not the experience of the vast majority of residents and visitors of the district,” Pinto told ABC News.
