Airport officials say that the Tilt-Rotor plane landed safely after informing a mechanical problem halfway. The United States Air Force said the ship made a “precautionary landing” during a flight from the Misawa air base to its base of operations, the Yokota air base.
No injuries were reported. Commercial flight operations continued as normal. The video of the Japanese station NHK shows the plane in the filming to the apron where uniformed personnel could be seen at the top of the plane, near the center, inspecting the plane.
The Japan Ministry of Defense says that it has sent staff to the site and is in contact with US forces.

The landing occurred six days after another American fisherman eagle in Akita’s prefecture for a security inspection, according to Japanese officials. That plane remained on the ground for more than seven hours.
An officer of American military public affairs described Thursday’s incident as a “precautionary landing.” The V-22 Osprey has been involved in several incidents in recent years, including an accident in Yakushima, in southern Japan, in 2023 that killed eight and founded the fleet for months.
Cullen Drenkhahn, first lieutenant who serves as an advisor to public affairs for the special operations wing 353d Kadena AB, told ABC News: “I can confirm that an US OSPREY CV-22. UU.
“The landing was executed safely and according to the policies. An evaluation is being carried out to collect additional information. There were no injuries or damage. There were no interruptions in airport operations,” Drenkhahn said. “The plane is assigned to the Special Operations Wing 353 and flew from the Misawa air base to its operations base, the Yokota air base.
He added: “There is no more information at this time. The safety of our pilots and air crew, as well as the men and women of Japan, is our main priority.”
